About Jane Greenko of Nerdling Acres
Jane is the principal grower & designer at Nerdling Acres Flower Stand and a third generation Long Island farmer florist. She grew up around flowers & had a lifelong hands-on apprenticeship from her mother and grandmothers who raised & sold seasonal cut flowers at their roadside farmstands. She continues this family tradition on her own flower microfarm in Southold, NY, where she & her husband Derek grow over 200 varieties of flowering plants & shrubs used in their floral designs. A research scientist & professor by trade, sustainable flower cultivation & wildcrafting provides Jane much-needed “green therapy” and a connection to her agricultural roots.
