2013 Cabernet Franc (Library)

Library Collection
Out Of Stock
Limited Re-Release from our Library Collection—one of the premier red wine varietals on the North Fork of Long Island from an exceptional vintage. The 2013 vintage was a near perfect growing season on the North Fork of Long Island, regarded as one of our region's best vintages to date.
Sweet spice, sage and oregano accent this gorgeously complex, penetrating Cabernet Franc. It is satisfyingly plump with black, brambly fruit and accented by deep, rich earthy notes. Brisk acidity and a fringe of fine-grained persistent tannins lend tautness and structure to the palate.

Tasting Notes
Sweet spice, sage and oregano accent this gorgeously complex, penetrating Cabernet Franc. It’s satisfyingly plump with black fruit, but also brambly, herbaceous and accented by deep rich soil notes. Brisk acidity and a fringe of fine-grained persistent tannins lend tautness and structure to the palate.

Reviewed by Mark Squires on June 30 2017 — "The 2013 Cabernet Franc was aged for 16 months in 85% new Hungarian Oak. Alcohol 13.2% - showing the fine character of a well-made Cab Franc, this has smooth texture and flavor on the finish. Solid for the grape and the region in the mid-palate, it drinks well young, but has the stuffing to evolve, too. It is nicely done."
Production Notes
Barrel aged for 16-18 months in Hungarian Oak followed by an additional year of bottle aging before its original release.
Winemaker Notes
Blended with: 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot
